Essiac Four-Herb Formula Healing Tea

A Canadian nurse named Rene Caisse first discovered an amazing herbal tea formula in 1922, when one of the patients in her hospital was cured of cancer! The patient originally had received the herbal preparation from an Ojibway herbalist. Rene Caisse then devoted over 50 years of her life testing, developing and perfecting that old Indian remedy she called ESSIAC (Essiac is her name spelled backwards). Rene used this Four-Herb Tea to treat literally thousands of cancer patients, and the tea produced phenomenal results. She began to experiment with the Four-Herb formula and found it to be very effective in helping many other ailments as well e.g., chronic bronchitis.
Many people now claim that Caisse's Four-Herb Tea has the natural ability to boost their immune systems and to detoxify their bodies, providing them with nearly perfect health; no colds, no flu, no bronchitis. When you make your own Four-Herb Tea formula, you should only use organic Burdock Root, Sheep Sorrel, Slippery Elm and Turkey Rhubarb herbs in the correct medicinal proportions.
Supplies needed - Stainless Steel or enamel canning pot with lid. Never use aluminium. Another large pot to pour hot liquid into while you strain it. This can be Pyrex or stainless steel. Stainless steel mesh strainer, spoon and labels, 32 oz amber glass bottles to store your finished product in. They should either be opaque or amber as the formula is light sensitive and will not stay as potent in clear glass. This 2 gallon recipe is a one month supply for a cancer patient, or a two month supply for other ailments.
- Mix the 4 herbs (approx 1 cup) together. If only making 1 gallon at a time make sure to divide up the herbs separately before combining them as the turkey rhubarb is heavier and will fall to the bottom resulting in an uneven mix.
- Bring 2 gallons of distilled water to a boil. (Use only 1 gallon of water for half the recipe) Stir in herbs, replace lid and boil for 10minutes.
- Turn off stove, scrape down sides, mix well and allow pot to sit and remain closed for 12 hours. This is the steeping and extractionprocess.
- Reheat to almost boiling, about 10 minutes. Let cool just a little and begin straining process. Strain as many times as you like. Alittle herb left in the liquid will not hurt it in any way. reheat your liquid once again for 2-3 minutes only. this will kill any bacteria thatmay have landed in your liquid and help keep it from spoiling.
- Using a funnel or glass measuring cup, put your hot liquid into preheated bottles. You can heat the bottles in the oven at 200 degrees for 5 or 10 minutes. Do not put caps in the oven!
- Cap, let cool and then put in the refrigerator. This will be good for 2 weeks. Label the day you made it and the day it expires. If you have some left after 2 weeks, simply bring it back to a boil to re-sterilize it.
The discussion above is different from what is recommended by the Herbal Healer, whose recommendations are: Mix 2 oz of herbal liquid with 2 oz of hot water. Never heat in a microwave! Formula should be taken on an empty stomach 10-20 minutes before eating. This formula can be taken 1 to 3 times per day. It is important to drink plenty of clean spring or filtered water and have regular bowel movements. Suggested Dosages
